The Greatest Man in history is Jesus.

He had no servants, yet they called Him Master.

He had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher.

He had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.

He had no army, yet kings feared Him.

He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

(Just got this on my email) I am not one to dwell much on the past, because we ARE heading into the future like it or not, so we always need to stay focused on today and tomorrow. But once in a while a message comes along that you just can't ignore. This little piece describes what life was really like in the 40s, 50s, and even part of the 60s. Kinda before things got so complicated, you know.

HEY, WASN'T THIS US ?

A little house with three bedrooms,
one bathroom and one car on the street.
A mower that you had to push
to make the grass look neat.

In the kitchen on the wall
we only had one phone,
And no need for recording things,
someone was always home.
....
We only had a living room
where we would congregate,
unless it was at mealtime
in the kitchen where we ate.

We had no need for family rooms
or extra rooms to dine.
When meeting as a family
those two rooms would work out fine.

We only had one TV set
and channels maybe two,
But always there was one of them
with something worth the view.

For snacks we had potato chips
that tasted like a chip.
And if you wanted flavor
there was Lipton's onion dip.

Store-bought snacks were rare because
my mother liked to cook
and nothing can compare to snacks
in Betty Crocker's book.

Weekends were for family trips
or staying home to play.
We all did things together --
even go to church to pray.

When we did our weekend trips
depending on the weather,
no one stayed at home because
we liked to be together.

Sometimes we would separate
to do things on our own,
but we knew where the others were
without our own cell phone.

Then there were the movies
with your favorite movie star,
and nothing can compare
to watching movies in your car.

Then there were the picnics
at the peak of summer season,
pack a lunch and find some trees
and never need a reason.

Get a baseball game together
with all the friends you know,
have real action playing ball --
and no game video.

Remember when the doctor
used to be the family friend,
and didn't need insurance
or a lawyer to defend?

The way that he took care of you
or what he had to do,
because he took an oath and strove
to do the best for you.

Remember going to the store
and shopping casually,
and when you went to pay for it
you used your own money?

Nothing that you had to swipe
or punch in some amount,
and remember when the cashier person
had to really count?

The milkman used to go
from door to door,
And it was just a few cents more
than going to the store.

There was a time when mailed letters
came right to your door,
without a lot of junk mail ads
sent out by every store.

The mailman knew each house by name
and knew where it was sent;
there were not loads of mail addressed
to "present occupant."

There was a time when just one glance
was all that it would take,
and you would know the kind of car,
the model and the make.

They didn't look like turtles
trying to squeeze out every mile;
they were streamlined, white walls, fins
and really had some style.

One time the music that you played
whenever you would jive,
was from a vinyl, big-holed record
called a forty-five.

The record player had a post
to keep them all in line
and then the records would drop down
and play one at a time.

Oh sure, we had our problems then,
just like we do today
and always we were striving,
trying for a better way.

Oh, the simple life we lived
still seems like so much fun,
how can you explain a game,
just kick the can and run?

And why would boys and girls put baseball cards
between bicycle spokes
and for a nickel, red machines
had little bottled Cokes

This life seemed so much easier
and slower in some ways.
I love the new technology
but I sure do miss those days.

So time moves on and so do we
and nothing stays the same,
but I sure love to reminisce
and walk down memory lane.

With all today's technology
we grant that it's a plus!
But it's fun to look way back and say,
Hey look, guys, THAT WAS US!

--

“Everyday we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child - our own two eyes. All is a miracle.”

*****LOVELY STORY*****

One day a very wealthy father took his son on a trip to the country for the sole purpose of showing his son how it was to be poor. They spent a few days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

After their return from the trip, the father asked his son how he liked the trip. “It was great, Dad,” the son replied. “Did you see how poor people can be?” the father asked. “Oh Yeah,” said the son.

“So what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father. The son answered, “I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.

We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.

We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.” The boy’s father was speechless. Then his son added, “It showed me just how poor we really are.”

Too many times we forget what we have and concentrate on what we don’t have. What is one person’s worthless object is another’s prize possession. It is all based on one’s perspective.

Sometimes it takes the perspective of a child to remind us what’s important.

"I know their sorrows." — Exodus 3:7
The child is cheered as he sings, "This my father knows"; and shall not we be comforted as we discern that our dear Friend and tender soul-husband knows all about us?
1. He is the Physician, and if he knows all, there is no need that the patient should know. Hush, thou silly, fluttering heart, prying, peeping, and suspecting! What thou knowest not now, thou shalt know hereafter, and meanwhile Jesus, the beloved Physician, knows thy soul in adversities. Why need the patient analyze all the medicine, or estimate all the symptoms? This is the Physician's work, not mine; it is my business to trust, and his to prescribe. If he shall write his prescription in uncouth characters which I cannot read, I will not be uneasy on that account, but rely upon his unfailing skill to make all plain in the result, however mysterious in the working.
2. He is the Master, and his knowledge is to serve us instead of our own; we are to obey, not to judge: "The servant knoweth not what his lord doeth." Shall the architect explain his plans to every hodman on the works? If he knows his own intent, is it not enough? The vessel on the wheel cannot guess to what pattern it shall be conformed, but if the potter understands his art, what matters the ignorance of the clay? My Lord must not be cross-questioned any more by one so ignorant as I am.
3. He is the Head. All understanding centres there. What judgment has the arm? What comprehension has the foot? All the power to know lies in the head. Why should the member have a brain of its own when the head fulfils for it every intellectual office? Here, then, must the believer rest his comfort in sickness, not that he himself can see the end, but that Jesus knows all. Sweet Lord, be thou for ever eye, and soul, and head for us, and let us be content to know only what thou choosest to reveal.
"Morning and Evening" was written by Charles Spurgeon. - Daily Devotionals

Lukewarm "Christians" Judgment Day-Are You Ready? (2/9) SO4J-TV ---> https://youtu.be/p9vINvMb4R8

~ Anyone that is ashamed to hold signs for the Lord, IS ashamed of Jesus. Jesus said;
"Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." MARK 8:38

Monte Botts: Neat seeing a whole Church out there holding up a Signs for the LORD Jesus! Wish more of those Churches would do so; and the Pastors to set the Example for their Congregations, leading them out there! They might just grow to Experience God, in a whole other Dimension? Got a kick out of the "Sign" that said: "Help Prevent Truth Decay"..."Read the Bible"!

Gary Skinner: This also applies about passing out a gospel tract or simply praying over a meal at a restaurant-- how ashamed most of us believers really are.

Rick Beauchamp: God bless all these faithful people! Truly busy about their Father's business!

~ Victor McCleskey - March 25, 2010 · This is my favorite vehicle. Seem a little fanatical?...It works... and is very effective. If we really believe the Bible is true...and if we know what it says....don't you think we should be doing all we can to reach the lost? Someday someone might say to you....You lived in a time and land when you had freedom to preach and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ....Many Christians gave their lives to do that because they did not have that freedom....What did you do?...And after you tell them they might say...THAT'S ALL YOU DID?.......WHY?............. Some people claim to be saved and have not done anything. How far will you go for Jesus Christ? Are you really trying to reach the lost? Do you feel you have done your duty because you went to church, or handed out a couple of tracts last week? Also, many people have done things to win the lost in the past but don't do much now.... don't be a use-to-be. Flood your mind with the Word of God then you will do more for God.

Here, the word "now" indicates "Once Saved, Always Saved."
Romans 8:1 (KJV)
There is therefore NOW no condemnation to them which are in Christi Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
The phrase "who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." is a phrase missing in many modern translations of the Bible. This phrase shows evidence of salvation and not a condition of keeping salvation. There are no conditions for keeping salvation. There are conditions for receiving salvation: Repent and Believe. This phrase is also in direct contrast with "Easy Believism."

If there is a doctrine the KJV promotes, and you find that doctrine attacked by modern versions, THAT alone should prove that doctrine true.
1. The KJV promotes the doctrine of the deity of Christ. Many modern versions attack that doctrine.
2. The KJV promotes the Trinity or Godhead. Many modern versions attack that doctrine.
3. The KJV promotes the blood of Christ. Many modern versions attack that doctrine.
4. The KJV promotes the eternal security of the believer. Many modern versions attack that doctrine.

Friday’s Prayer: Keeping Our Cool!

"Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men." - 1 Thessalonians 5: 14
We are the body of Christ and we are all at different stages of our faith. We are to encourage and uplift each other. Even those of us that may be strong in our faith may have areas where we are weak and vulnerable and need support and encouragement. And those new to the faith, or those that may not have their roots quite deep enough yet, need a lot of support and encouragement as well. Sometimes it's hard to be patient and 'keep our tempers'. We all rub each other up the wrong way at times – but that happens in families. We're all learning and growing. The thing is to 'work through it', and love and respect each other in the process. So much of the disfunction and splitting in church is either over 'doctrines' or 'petty arguments'. People get hurt and leave. We have to be mindful of how we respond to disagreements – keeping our cool! We need to keep cool when we disagree ~ Remembering to keep the unity© By M.S.Lowndes ~ In Jesus Name I pray, amen

1 Corinthians 13:4-5 "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; "

Proverbs 16:32 "He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city."

1 Peter 2:17 "Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king."

Dear Lord, as I close the door on this old year, I ponder on the things I've done... on the things I've said and the joys I've had... then I wonder, have I lost or won?

I've thought of the new friends I have made, and of the old ones staunch and true... the path of the old year was made easier Lord, because I have walked it with You.

I think of all the many times, when my burdens were so heavy to bear, and how my faith slipped away from me... but somehow You were always standing there.

Now as I open the door to this New Year, and carefully peep inside, I wonder what it holds for me... but I'll throw the door open wide and whatever it brings to me and mine, I'll meet it with a heart so true...
I know that Lord whate'er it may be, You'll be there to carry me through.

Luke 12:40 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life," John 3:16. Will you not repent and put your trust in Christ as your personal Saviour and be ready to leave this old earth when the trumpet shall sound. IT CANNOT BE LONG ---- IT MAY BE SOON. Now is the day of salvation. TOMORROW MAY BE TOO LATE.

Good Morning LORD and FB friends and family. Get up and get moving and go to church today to worship and praise the Lord. Make God happy and sacrifice your time to praise and worship Him. Have you ever bought something that came with a lifetime warranty only to find out that it has become broken and don't work the way it is meant to ? So you call the company and tell them about it and they tell you ; well the warranty don't cover that part. Well now you have something that was supposed to last a lifetime but it's broken and is of no use anymore. Well Christ bought us by giving His life for us on the cross so that we will be forgiven of our sins and have eternal life with Him in heaven. He paid a debt He did not owe , we owe a debt we can not pay. JOHN 3 : 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotton Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. If you are broken God is not going to tell you that you are not covered and can't be fixed. Many people think they are perfect and may present themselves that way when others are around but ROMANS 3 : 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. It's time to stop the wicked ways and start doing the right thing even if no one is watching. Man may not be watching but God is always watching. Validate that lifetime warranty today and make Jesus your Lord and Savior. 1 JOHN 1 : 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Invite Jesus into your heart today; you never know if it could be your last day here on this earth. Sometimes we put off things until it's too late. Don't take that chance with God. Repent and be saved and enjoy true happiness and joy doing the right thing and know you will have everlasting life in heaven with Jesus. Learn to listen to God when He speaks to you. He may speak to you in a way that you will know can only be a sign of God or it may be just a soft voice in your head that's saying " come to me and be saved". Is God calling you to repent? Don't delay if so, it just could be your last chance. OK , I need to try to end this post. Sometimes I could just go on and on. Go to church today and enjoy spending time with God. Receive a blessing and be a blessing. Start your week off right and expect good things to happen. Bless and be Blessed. Have a great Sunday everyone. God Bless you all.

June 21, 2012 at 8:41pm ·

The disciples were not losing time when they sat down beside their Master, and held quiet converse with Him under the olives of Bethany or by the shores of Galilee. Those were their school hours; those were their feeding times. The healthiest Christian, the one who is best fitted for Godly living and Godly labours, is he who feeds the most on Christ. Here lies the benefit of Bible reading. - Evangelist.

~ December 21, 2011 · Not On Wednesday Night

Bright and early Sunday morning, If the weather's not too bad, And there's nothing else to hinder, And my mood is not too sad, I jump from the bed with vigor And don my Sunday best, And hurry to the meeting house To worship with the rest. Now to worship Sunday morning Is nothing more than right, And 'sometimes' Sunday evening, But NOT on Wednesday night! 'Cause some might think religion Had gone right to my head, So I'll just watch TV awhile, And then go right to bed. I know that I should worship God, And on Sunday morn, all right. And 'sometimes' Sunday evening, But NOT on Wednesday night! +++ HERE'S A FACT! The only promise that God made to the UNFAITHFUL! in the Bible is CHASTIZEMENT. Thursday’s Prayer

Beyond Mere Existence

Why does it seem so easy
To slowly grow so cold,
To lose that fire we once had known
That burned within our souls?

We start to lose the joy
And life becomes a bore,
We just live from day to day
With no hope in the Lord

We give up on the dreams,
We once had in our hearts,
We settle down to mere existence
Alone within the dark

Oh God our spirits yearn
To know you so much more,
We don't want to just exist
But know you as before

To feel your presence in our lives
And a new song on our lips,
To walk in victory every day,
O Lord, we long for this

Come, O God, and touch us
Ignite us once again,
So we will burn with holy zeal,
More than we had back then

Fill us with your spirit, Lord,
And we shall be renewed,
So joy can be restored to us
With brand-new hope in you.

~ I have heard people joke about themselves, "I'm so proud to be humble." Sadly, in the America of the 21st century, pride is considered a virtue by many. They view humility as weakness.
But the great preacher D.L. Moody said, "A man can counterfeit love, he can counterfeit faith, he can counterfeit hope and all the other graces, but it is very difficult to counterfeit humility."
King David had power and wealth that could have made him selfish and proud. Instead, in Psalm 138 he approached God with the spirit of the humble shepherd boy he had once been, filled with praise and gratitude.
David thanked God for His presence, His strength, His glory, and His mercy. He praised Him for His protection from enemies. He affirmed God's presence in His life.
May we follow David's example and praise God for His work in and through us. As sinners saved by God's grace, we have only one source of pride ---- Christ, our crucified, resurrected Saviour, who gave His life for us.
Psalm 138:1-8; "Open Windows" - Linda Lawson Still.

I found the life that I'll live till I die
I found the Lord, rich man am I
People may say that I'm dreamin' a bit
But I like when I believe and not gonna quit
The book told me that I'll live when I die
I found the Lord, rich man am I
I found the dream that surely come true
I found the rainbow that's never turned blue
I found the land where teardrops are dry
I found the Lord, rich man am I
I found the song the angels can sing
I found the way to be rich as a king
I found the love that will burn till I die
I found the Lord, rich man am I
People may say that I'm dreamin' a bit
But I like when I believe and not gonna quit
The book told me that I'll live when I die
I found the Lord, rich man am I
I found the Lord rich man am I
