I gave away my biggest roaster today... wow, when I think of the stuff I would cook for all those campmeetings, well, it was kinda sad to let it go. Mister was alive and well and he'd help trim off the briskets. I sure do miss my ol'sidekick.

It won't be too much activity in here and nothing during rainy days if it's storming. If you are reading, WELCOME to my chuckwagon. Got a nice campfire going and the cookies are always fresh and free.

Thanks mr mud for allowing me to do this... anytime you wanna change it, well fer crying in grandma's eggnog- why would ya, huh?!! Laughing

It's gotta be good for the grey matter in my head, yes? And if'n yaw don't like my posts, then don't read me. Seesh. Maybe I should use the old phrase, hogfat! (or was it hogwash) For however long I have here, I'm grateful. xo

Now---- for that infamous 1st recipe.....

A HAPPY HOME RECIPE

4 c Love (listener will like that, eh)
3 c Loyalty
3 c Forgiveness
1 c Friendship
5 Tblsp of Hope
2 Tblsp of Tenderness
4 qts of Faith
1 barrel of Laughter

Take love and loyalty, mix thoroughly with faith. Blend it with tenderness, kindness, and understanding. Add friendship and hope; sprinkle abundantly with laughter. Bake it with sunshine. Serve daily with generous helpings.

Don't ask me where I got it from...prolly a cookbook, I got zillions. So thar ya go toots... food for the soul and maybe I'll find a good one to make our mouth drool.

Note to sparkle: they diagnosed Lori with diabetes, hi col, and hi bp. She spent a day and night in ICU.

Well, I gotta move it, move it, (I hear the grands singing that diddy)... so if it's still here when I get back, we'll talk some more. Forgive any mistakes... the 'puter made me do it, lol. I had a time trying to read the sinking NewsStar.. she must be going down fast. Bye-bye~

I'm glad they found those problems with Lori before they snowballed into a worse condition. I think that sunshine over browned the edges a bit, lol.

Hiya listener and mr/s mud... thanks a bunch for dropping in. This contraption is slower than 'lasses today. I haven't heard any thunder yet, but the rain sho' be nice. Very Happy

O dear listener.. da gran don't have a favourite veg soup recipe as such. What I would do is dump a can of veg-all soup, or froze pkg of veggies, whatever, then add a can/box of broth, a can of diced maters, some sort of noodles/rice, or both, then season to taste. The Greek seasoning is very tasty, as is Morton's season-all. Of course I make mine with hamburger, so that's browned first with lotsa diced onions. And when everyone is here the amounts are greater. This bunch can put away some grub. Laughing

I hope I can be a blessing and not a hindrance here. I've noticed nobody else has joined.. perhaps I shudda changed my name. Sorry. Say, I did make another post this a.m. over on the sinking ship- maybe they will change their mind and not shut'er down? I was posting for awhile, back in the day, on the Bayou dotcom forums. That's where I met Elmo, I think. It was nassy there. Then I went back to NS and began again; it got nassier. Rolling Eyes Was one of the very first to join, after the staff. I guess being offline for a few years, left me outta da loop; even my pic is missing on my first love I joined in '02. They prolly tho't I died, lol.

I will be making turkey-lurkey soup today for tomorrie's lunch too. Usually have a crowd over after church. Lori's family have been visitating again as we don't usually hold Sun eve services anymore since our pastor left. We do still meet every Sun morn and Wed eve. I hate that broFree ain't the pastor no mo', but the new guy seems to be doing ok, I think. My feelings haven't changed much for there... it's hard to forget what happened to baby boy years ago, and yes, I've forgiven all involved. It's my fault anyway- I never taught my chilluns about the dangers of the devil's doctrine (Oneness).

Yikes, I've rattled on too much- never for a lack of yak from me, teehee. Oh btw, I read this tongue-in-cheek public notice recently: "Due to recent budget cuts, the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the current state of the economy, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off". Granny - I am sorry to hear about Lori being a diabetic. So am I. Luckily my meds so far are all oral, no injections. Also have high chol and high bp along with rheumatoid arthritis and bursitis! But I'm doin pretty good for an old lady! We have the grandkids full time now and I don't look for that to change. I'm not very smart on helping with homework but we muddle through it somehow. I sure dread the teen age years and they are a coming!

I went through school and graduated. I'm done with homework. I don't appreciate these "teachers" trying to burden me with my kids' homework, and will not be guilt-tripped into "helping" them with it. Home is home, and school is school, and never the twain shall meet in this house. Evil or Very Mad

My youngest is smart enough to get his done at school. My oldest boy really just doesn't care. Whatever works. Wink

Now, however, this doesn't include projects. Oh, yeah...I'm all about helping my kids whup up a science project that will wow the crowd, or a social studies/history speech that will make them march in the streets. But every-day mundane "homework" that doesn't amount to much more than busy-work? Hey, teacher, leave my kids alone. After-school is our family time. Every precious second of it. I will not be spending it doing YOUR job. I have other things to teach my kids.

We graduated 6 yunguns from the government schools... you couldn't pay me enuff to do it again.

Good morning Granny. CatFish arrived home yesterday safe and sound ahead of the rain. She pulled out from Lake Charles at 7:30 to beat the weather. She had a fire to warm her weary bones yesterday evening.

Hiya mrs mud... well, if'n yo bones ain't weary, mine certainly are, lol. You sure do work hard in your garden, but it pays off, huh. One of the grandsons put in several "throw-away" plants that his dad brought home, this time it is cabbage. I've heard tell it taste different from store-bought. Glad you stopped in. xo

Good morning y'all... you know what day this is - MONDAY! My most favourite day of the week.

Yup sparkle, I will always love the rain (no storms please). Hope you made it home safely and I know you had a great time. I haven't even checked to see if the ol'sinking ship (NS) is still afloat. I will tho'. Wonder whatever happened to some of those dear folks. I think of lil'Sam often, haven't checked to see if she still has her knitting blog. Prolly not after all these years.

Where's my comfy when I need him. Mister would always get up and light the heaters. He knows how I hate to mess with 'em. I've learned to make the coffee and bring myself a cup- and yup I still got that guzzler. See, I got that so he wouldn't hafta bring me a second cup. Wink

The soup was a hit yesterday and will be for several days tho' de pot was bigger than I tho't. We don't throw nuttin' away here. Sure hope y'all had a nice LORD's day. It was just about perfect, weatherwise.

The ol'goose honked all night which is not unusual since she lost her mate. Sometimes the big red dawg, yup he's still here, will join her with his howling... he lost his 2 buddies as well. Maybe I should add to the music. ~sigh~

I've got to check out a new spot I've found: it's the Galatiansfour blogspot; it's a discernment-type blog written by biblebeliever. I gotta look into his sidelinks, wow!

Look at the time... that yankee bird will be calling in a bit and soon as I can get a word in with all her chirping she does, I plan to tell her what I have done.. She don't know I'm back online (well, sorta). I hope to get my ol'puter going again. I already have some family looking in, perhaps she will too, on her phone. Heya Robin! xo

Good morning! Back to work today, kids back to school. Enjoyed church last night then me and the grands drove thru Antique Alley to look at the Christmas lights.

Gotta get that first cup, second cup, etc and enjoy this quiet time before I get the rest of 'em up. Y'all have a great day.

I was told I had made a mistake on a post above about the blogspot, so had to come in and "edit my senior moment", lol. Glad I did... forgot to tell you, listener, that yup, still got those same ol'pounds up and down... Hate it, really really do.

O mr mud, also forgot about you liking Mondays too. Well, need to go, the gang is coming over. Now the yankee bird knows about the Mudflap, lol. She'll be looking in - btw, she has a sore throat coming on. They are so cold up there. I am too here. MISTER!!!!!

I don't struggle too much getting going on Mondays, especially after Thurs and Fri off I knew I had a lot to catch up on. I really don't mind it, keeps me busy and passes the time.
