~ Louisiana State Police Address Travel Concerns for Louisiana Motorists Traveling into Texas

Louisiana State Police continues to receive numerous calls from Louisiana residents regarding travel restrictions ordered by the Texas Governor. Nothing in the Texas executive order “closes” the border or otherwise restricts traveling into or out of Texas as long as Louisiana residents comply with the directions of the order which “mandates a 14-day self-quarantine for every person who enters the State of Texas through roadways from Louisiana.” Additionally, there are clear exemptions to the order for certain individuals. This order does not prohibit or limit in any way motorists' ability to travel into Texas for scheduled medical treatment.

Furthermore, the order to self-quarantine shall not apply to people traveling in connection with commercial activity, military service, emergency response, health response, or critical-infrastructure functions. Louisiana residents planning to travel into Texas must adhere to the following:

•Visitors must remain in the designated quarantine location for a period of 14 days or the duration of the person’s presence in Texas, whichever is shorter

•Persons may leave their designated location to seek medical care.

•Individuals should fill out the requested form https://www.dps.texas.gov/covidtravel/groundTravel.pdf in advance of travel into Texas.

•Motorists may depart Texas at any time

If our rights can be "suspended" for any reason, then they are not really rights at all, and can be revoked at any time for any reason.
The Declaration of Independence says "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
Our rights come from God and are protected by the US Constitution.
Our Fathers, Grandfathers, & Great Grandfathers willfully shed their blood to protect these God given rights for us. Now I see many of us screaming to our "king" to "save" us by taking away these rights. What would our grandfathers think of us?
Our President put forth a list of guidelines for us to follow for safety. That is welcomed and appreciated, and we should probably follow those guidelines as best as we can to protect people. I take no issue with "guidelines" to help us.
But when I see a man throwing a ball in a park with his six year old daughter, and he is cuffed and arrested in front of his little girl for this "crime", America dies a little.
When I see a man alone in the ocean on a paddleboard a mile away from any other person and a whole squad of police officers show up, signal him in, and lead him away in handcuffs, America dies a little.
When I see the Mayor of NY state that he will "PERMANENTLY" shut down any church or synagogue that defies his "orders" America dies a little.
When I see a lady pulled over and cited for illegally driving in her own car when it's deemed she's not driving for an "essential" reason, America dies a little.
When I see a married couple cited by police for the crime of enjoying a sunset inside their own car, America dies a little.
When I see 30 police cars come storming to a church parking lot because they heard they might be having church services there, America dies a little.
Benjamin Franklin said "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Do we understand what he is saying?
Patrick Henry said "Give me Liberty or Give me Death!" He did not say, Give me Liberty or take it away if I'm scared.
I remember a man named Daniel who defied the kings "order" not to pray because he was given that right and commandment by his Creator.
I remember 3 Hebrew boys who defied a kings "order" to bow to an idol. They respected their king and worked for their king, but as everyone else bowed because they were scared, these 3 boys bravely stood up for their right to freedom to follow their Creators guidance.
Do we want to be one of the ones bowing in fear or standing for freedom?
Is there a reason to follow these guidelines? Yes! for sure, but when these guidelines become a trampling of the rights that our grandfathers died to protect, we need to wake up! America is dying in front of our eyes, and many of us are encouraging it because of fear. This is dangerous, very dangerous. You may want to believe this is “for your own Safety” but . . . A cashless society means no cash. . Zero . . .
It doesn’t mean mostly cashless and you can still use a ‘wee bit of cash here & there’.
Cashless means fully digital, fully traceable, fully controlled. I think those who support a cashless society aren’t fully aware of what they are asking for.
A cashless society means:
* No more tuck-away cash for those preparing to leave domestic violence.
* No more purchases off marketplace unless you want to risk bank transfer fraud.
* No more garage sales.
* No more cash donations to hungry homeless you pass.
* No more cash slipped into the hands of a child from their grandparent.
* No more money in birthday cards.
* No more piggy banks or tooth fairy for your child.
* No more selling bits & pieces from your home that you no longer want/need for a bit of cash in return.
* Less choices of where you purchase based on affordability.
What a cashless society does guarantee:
* Banks have full control of every single penny you own.
* Every transaction you make is recorded.
* All your movements & actions are traceable.
* Access to your money can be blocked at the click of a button when/if banks need ‘clarification’ from you which could take weeks, a hundred questions answered & five hundred passwords.
* If your transactions are deemed in any way questionable, by those who create the questions, your money will be frozen, ‘for your own good’.
And before anybody slams this post ... don’t go shooting the messenger ..
I’m sharing it because maybe we all need to take off our blinders for a second.
Forget about cash being dirty. Cash has been around for a very, very long time & it gives you control over how you trade with the world. It gives you independence.
If you are a customer, pay with cash.
If you are a shop owner, remove those ridiculous signs that ask people to pay by card. Cash is a legal tender, it is our right to pay with cash. But banks are making it increasingly difficult to use cash & that has nothing to do with a virus.
Stop believing everything you hear on the TV. Almost every single topic in today’s world is tainted with corruption & hidden agendas.
Politics & greed is what is wrong with the world; not those who are trying to alert you to the reality.
Please pay with cash & please say no to a cashless society while you still have a choice.

KEEP A BAG OF FLOUR IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR.....READ ON..... THE BENEFIT OF FLOUR:
Interesting! Who knew? Some time ago, I was cooking some corn and stuck my fork in the boiling water to see if the corn was ready. I missed and my hand went into the boiling water....!!
A friend of mine, who was a Vietnam veteran, came into the house, as I was screaming, and asked me if I had some plain old flour... I pulled out a bag and he stuck my hand in it. He told me to keep my hand in the flour for 10 minutes.
He said, in Vietnam, there was a guy on fire and in their panic, they threw a bag of flour all over him to put the fire out... Well, it not only put the fire out, but he never even had a blister!!!! ... Long story short, I put my hand in the bag of flour for 10 mins, pulled it out and did not even have a red mark or a blister & absolutely NO PAIN.
Now, I keep a bag of flour in the fridge and every time I burn myself. *Cold flour feels even better than room temperature flour. I use the flour and have never ever had even a red spot/burn mark, or a blister! I even burnt my tongue once, put the flour on it for about 10 minutes .... the pain was gone and no burn.
Try it . . . Experience a miracle! Keep a bag of flour in your fridge and you will be happy you did! Flour has heat absorbent property and also has a strong antioxidant property, thus it helps in burn patients if applied within 15 minutes.
Did not know this but will be a good one to remember - copied.

Update on the city with no light. We have now been here 16 full days, here are our observations.
NIGHTS ARE THE WORST. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. ELDERLY ARE ALONE AND SCARED. ITS WORSE THAN YOU KNOW.

IT'S VERY DARK
Having been here since 7am the Thursday morning the day after Laura struck, here are some of our observations over the last 16 days.
Needs...
Elderly people in the outlying communities are struggling immensely, especially after the sun goes down. These individuals, elderly in small towns, need the greatest help. They need regular visits from a capable trustworthy person at least every 2 days. 🙏 They need regular wellness checks with supply deliveries such as ice, food, water and gas for generators. Remember they don't have refrigerators. They need specific supplies badly, things for camping. Things you wouldn't think about, like batteries and flashlights, ice, ice chests, gas cans with fuel, can openers. IT'S VERY VERY DARK AT NIGHT. Tonight we had an elderly woman 70 years old who rushed into our donation center in the heart of downtown Lake Charles, all she wanted was flashlights. These folks HAVE NO POWER. ITS BEEN 11 DAYS. NO HOT WATER. NO STOVE TO COOK ON. NO NETFLIX. NO LAMPS TO READ BY. They are stuck in their homes with no power, it's been 16 days. They can't make their way through their home at night... Many generators are only running portions of homes with little light... their generators are running out of gas. It's humid ugly hot outside. They are so desperate for help, which makes them vulnerable to being preyed upon. They are afraid of being taken advantage of, but because they need help so badly, they acquiesce and pay WAY to much for services.
In the first 3 days after Laura, we cleared an entire community's roads in north Lake Charles, a region called Gooseport. Cajun Navy has run over forty all volunteer 5-10 man teams. We have addressed and closed precisely 265 tree clearing tickets. We've precisely dispatched tons of supplies. We have supplied hotshot teams with large trailers who are bringing supplies into remote communities.
Some insights...
No one is really LIVING in Lake Charles. There's not a mad dash for supplies. Walmart and Sam's are open in the city. Most in Lake Charles are able to go shopping there. Buildings that were lashed by the strong winds and rain have structural damage, individuals living in an apt building location in downtown were told they couldn't move back in for at least 6 months. 1700 miles of the power grid must be rebuilt. Hundreds of towers were damaged or destroyed.
Despite our good results, we have no big backers. Our avg. donation is less than 75$. We haven't been visited by any public officials. We have no major partners. We work 12 hours a day, some of us 20 hours a day. I'm still at it, sleep about 3 hours and get back up at 5:30-6 am every morning.
We are doing this on our own, except for your donations. We are grateful for all of the support you have provided.
To help us. Please show up, volunteer.
Commit to 1 day, 5 days, 15 days, a month.
Prepare to be changed.
We would like to start regular wellness checks. This is a large operation... Which would require a significant change in our operations. We don't have the funding to it, but we are going to try regardless.. I think we will find a way. We can't leave them to their own devices. Help us two ways. Time and Money.
